Teenagers are not just the future of our congregation; they’re already a cherished part of our church family.

We want to worship, study, and serve together, as one family in Christ despite our age differences. At the same time, we recognize that our teenage years can present unique challenges to our faith. To strengthen and support teenagers during these years our congregation also formed Club 3:16. In Club 3:16 our high schoolers build friendships and work together on their own special projects. Of course, we still eagerly welcome their involvement in the rest of our congregation’s life. To help promote this we offer a series of presentations called Transformed Youth that explains the work of our church family and equips our teenagers to become actively involved. If you’re interested in learning more or becoming involved please contact our pastor.

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12

Club 3:16 is a self-governed Winona area WELS group which consists of youth from St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, bonded by God’s grace and love. We have 4 focus pillars that define who we are and what we do:

  • Praise – Praise is at the forefront of who we are because we know that without the Lord we are nothing. We thank the Lord for all He has done for us. In acknowledgement of His love, we derived our name from John 3:16.
  • Outreach – Letting the world know about the Lord is not always easy and a lot of times falls upon deaf ears but it is vital because we know the Truth that whoever believes in Jesus shall not perish but have eternal life.
  • Fellowship – Fellowship is important in order to strengthen our bonds as a group of the Lord. For this reason we have several fellowship activities.
  • Community Service – There is no better way to show God’s love and mercy than by utilizing our time and talents in helping God’s people. This is why we are continually finding ways to serve the community.
